14" Hose Cage | SootMaster®
The Sootmaster 14" hose cage is the internal structural cage that separates the filter stage from the tank interior on the Sootmaster 641M and 652M, preventing the cloth filter from collapsing inward under vacuum suction and blocking the airflow path. A collapsed or absent hose cage causes the filter media to be drawn onto the inlet opening, drastically reducing suction and potentially drawing filter material into the motor. Compatible with Sootmaster 641M and 652M. Replace if the cage shows bending, broken welds, or deformation from compaction during tank emptying. A standard maintenance part that is often overlooked but critical to consistent vacuum performance.

For OSHA-regulated work, any accessory that compromises the sealed filtration path will affect compliance.

On active job sites — especially remediation, restoration, and industrial environments — this prevents suction loss and motor stress caused by collapsed hoses. Standard hoses are lighter and lower cost, suited for controlled, low-traffic environments.
