The Mastercraft SV280 wide-area vacuum covers large open floor plans — warehouses, distribution centers, convention centers, school gymnasiums — faster than any upright or canister unit. The 28-inch cleaning path vacuums nearly 2.5× the width of a standard commercial upright in a single pass, reducing coverage time and labor cost proportionally on large-area contracts. At 200 CFM of airflow, the SV280 picks up fine dust, debris, and particulate from both hard floors and carpet without surface changes or attachment swaps. The 14-gallon dust bag provides a full-shift capacity on most applications, reducing downtime from bag changes. The 60-foot power cord eliminates most mid-room outlet changes on standard commercial floor plans. Made in Newburgh, NY. Both the SV280 Corded and SV280 Battery are engineered for hard floors and carpet in a single pass. The 28" cleaning path works on tile, vinyl, concrete, hardwood, and commercial carpet without requiring a pad or attachment change — making it ideal for mixed-surface facilities such as schools, gyms, and warehouses.
The corded SV280 delivers 200 CFM of consistent airflow through a 60 ft power cord — best for continuous daily maintenance in facilities with accessible power. The SV280 Battery is cordless with dual 36V lithium-ion batteries, eliminating cord management and enabling cleaning in large open spaces such as gyms, arenas, and warehouses where outlets are distant. The corded model suits high-frequency daily use; the battery model suits wide-open periodic cleaning.
The SV280's 28" path is more than twice the width of a standard commercial upright (typically 13–14"). On a 10,000 sq ft open area, the SV280 can complete the job in roughly one-third the passes of a standard upright, significantly reducing labor time on large facilities.
The corded SV280 uses a 14-gallon dust bag system. When full, remove and dispose of the bag — no tank dumping required. The bagged system reduces fine-dust re-emission compared to bagless designs. Replacement bags (2-pack and zipper cloth bag) are available on mastercraftusa.com.
The standard SV280 uses a cloth and dust bag filtration system — it is not a sealed HEPA vacuum. For facilities with strict indoor air quality requirements such as healthcare or schools, supplement with an Enviromaster® HEPA vacuum for detailed corner and edge work.
