A 14-inch cloth filter and Infiltrator® filter bags keep soot and ash in the tank and the work area cleaner. Start each job with a fresh bag.
A Steel Tank That Lifts Off
The cold-rolled steel tank detaches to empty, and casters roll it through tight utility rooms. The 641M holds 3.5 gallons, the 652M 5.25 gallons.
I've been using the 641M for two years now. Perfect for smaller jobs and incredibly reliable. My crews love how easy it is to transport and set up. Worked like a dream was what I was expecting.

From the Field
What Sootmaster® Owners Say
Reviews from Sootmaster® owners on mastercraftusa.com.
“The 652M has completely transformed our business. The suction power is incredible and the filtration means no mess for our customers. Best investment we've made in 15 years. … Always works amazing. Even though I've thrown my older models a few beatings. The hose is durable.”
“This is the Cadillac of vacuums for heating appliances, chimneys, and more. Double filtration means no nuisance dust associated with wet/dry vacuums. The Sootmaster® is tough - no thin metal here. Just about every part on the unit is metal less the caster wheels. … Consider buying the flexible metal hose with your purchase to reach small cracks and tight spaces. … If you have been frustrated with your existing soot vacuum, or need an upgrade this is definitely a well built vacuum that you will have for years.”

Two Models. Same Motor.

Questions
Before You Order
A person answers at (845) 565-8850.
What is the difference between the 641M and 652M?
Both models use the same 1 HP motor and produce 94 CFM of suction. The difference is tank capacity: the 641M has a 3.5 gallon (0.5 bushel) steel tank suited for residential chimney sweeping and lighter-volume work, while the 652M has a 5.25 gallon (0.75 bushel) steel tank designed for higher-volume commercial jobs such as industrial boiler maintenance and multi-flue HVAC cleaning. If you service several appliances per visit, the 652M means emptying less often. Both come with the same 10 ft HTCR hose and tools.
Can I vacuum hot ash or active embers?
No. The Sootmaster® is designed for cooled soot and ash residue only. Never vacuum hot embers, live ash or any material above room temperature: doing so creates a fire and explosion hazard and will damage the vacuum. Always let ash and residue cool completely (typically 24 hours for fireplaces and wood stoves) before vacuuming.
What filters and filter bags does the Sootmaster® use?
Both the 641M and 652M use a 14 in. cloth filter and Infiltrator® filter bags in the 5 to 9 gallon size, sold in 5-packs. Replace the bag when it is about two-thirds full to keep suction up. Inspect and clean the cloth filter every 5 to 10 uses, and replace it when tears, holes or heavy buildup show. Add bags and filters in the order section, or call (845) 565-8850.
Is the Sootmaster® UL Listed?
The 652M is UL Listed. Both models are built to the same quality standards. Check your local and state requirements for the listing your jurisdiction or contracting work calls for.
What maintenance does it need between jobs?
After each use, empty the steel tank, wipe the inside clean before residue cools and hardens, and inspect the cloth filter for tears or buildup. Store it with the tank empty and the lid unsealed to prevent odor. Check the hose and its connections for cracks before each job. Mastercraft® recommends starting each job with a fresh filter bag.
Can I add filters and parts to my order?
Yes. Infiltrator® filter bags, the 14 in. cloth filter, cloth filter assembly, filter frame, hose cage, intermediate filters, a metal hose, the steel crevice tool and an HTCR hose fit both the 641M and 652M. Add them in the order section with the quantities you want.
What warranty comes with it?
Each Sootmaster® is backed by a 1-year warranty. Call (845) 565-8850 for the terms, and for replacement parts after that.
