Rubber. Turf.
Court. Carpet.
One Dry Pass.
The Mastercraft® SV280 wide-area vacuum — 28 inches, every floor type in your sports facility, one 5-position brush adjustment, no machine swap, no moisture.
Your facility runs more floor types than any one machine was built for — rubber in the weight room, turf in the training lanes, carpet in the lobby, a court at the center. Covering them with a 13-inch upright and a rack of dust mops burns staff hours every shift, and running the wrong machine on the wrong surface is how floors get damaged and warranty questions start.
The Mastercraft® SV280 line cleans every one of those surfaces dry, 28 inches per pass. A 5-position brush-height adjustment moves it from carpet to hard surface in under 10 seconds — lifting grit, rubber crumb, chalk, and loose debris with no water, no chemicals, and no machine swap.
And when the schedule reaches a finished wood court, the same dry method is the one consistent with MFMA daily-care guidance — no wet contact, ever.
The floors you run come with
rules you didn't write.
OSHA covers general housekeeping in every commercial facility. The MFMA covers what you may and may not do to a maple athletic floor. The wrong machine — or the wrong method — puts both exposures on the table at once.
General Housekeeping — 29 CFR 1910.22
OSHA's housekeeping standard applies to every facility with employees on site. An inspection that finds inadequate floor maintenance can open a citation without a slip-and-fall event. The fine schedule runs from serious to willful under the 2025 adjusted rates.
Maple Court Warranty — Power Scrubbers Prohibited
MFMA guidance is explicit: water-based power scrubbers are prohibited on maple athletic floors, and operating one may void the manufacturer warranty. The SV280 is 100% dry. No water, no chemicals, no moisture of any kind reaches a seam or a board face.
Coverage Math — One-Third the Passes
Your staff covers the same square footage with a 13-inch upright that takes three times as many passes as a 28-inch path. On a 10,000 sq ft open area, that difference is measurable labor hours returned to your operation every single shift — not a projection, a repeatable outcome.
One Machine. Every Surface.
The 5-position brush-height adjustment is the reason one machine covers your entire facility. Raised settings for finished hard surfaces, mid for rubber and turf, low for carpet. No pad swap, no attachment change, no second machine pulling from your budget.
Maple & Finished Courts
The most expensive floor in the building and the one with the strictest care rules. Dry vacuuming lifts grit, shoe abrasive, and chalk without moisture reaching a seam — consistent with MFMA daily-care guidance. The soft fine-gauge nylon brush raises to reduce pressure on finished surfaces.
Rubber Flooring
Rubber sheds its own crumb and holds chalk in the texture where a dust mop pushes it around. Grit ground underfoot opens seams and wears the surface early. A mid brush-height setting works particulate out of the texture and captures it in a sealed bag — not recirculated across a room where people are breathing hard.
Acrylic & Cushioned Courts
Grit, ball fuzz, and shoe rubber accumulate on every session. A raised brush setting at the right height takes the surface layer — including fine abrasive that dulls the court finish — without disturbing the court structure beneath it.
Artificial Turf
Turf is the surface most often cleaned wrong. Infill is part of the system, not debris. A raised brush setting takes tape, wrappers, shoe rubber, and displaced fibre while leaving the infill bed where it belongs. Dry operation means no moisture driven into the backing.
Acrylic Hard Court
Outdoor courts collect leaf litter, pollen, and windblown grit with no outlet nearby. The battery model covers a full court with no cord to drag across the playing surface or route around net posts. Grit left on acrylic is abrasive underfoot and dulls the surface texture.
Carpet & LVP
Carpet is where a facility is judged before anyone reaches the court. Tracked-in salt and sand cut fibre from underneath. The low brush setting works soil out of the pile at 28 inches per pass — the same machine, the same shift, no swap between the ballroom and the gym.
Mastercraft® SV280 —
Wide-Area Dry Vacuum
Two models, one cleaning argument. The corded SV280 for indoor facilities. The battery SV280B for outdoor courts, arenas, and anywhere cord management is impractical. Both clean 28 inches per pass on the same 5-position brush.

Six Reasons One Machine
Covers Your Entire Facility
5-Position Brush Height — Every Surface, No Swap
Rubber flooring, artificial turf, carpet, hardwood, LVP, acrylic — dial the adjustment and the machine moves between all of them in under 10 seconds with no tools. Raised settings reduce brush pressure on finished hard surfaces. No pad, no attachment, no second machine. The same machine that ran the weight room runs the wood court on the same shift.
28-Inch Single-Pass Cleaning Path
More than twice the width of a standard commercial upright. On a 10,000 sq ft open area, that is roughly one-third the passes of a 13-inch machine — measurable labor hours returned to your operation every single shift, not a spec, a recurring operational outcome every time the machine runs.
100% Dry Operation — No Moisture on Any Surface
No water tank. No chemical application. No moisture output of any kind — nothing wet ever touches rubber seams, turf infill, or a finished floor. On wood courts specifically, dry vacuuming is the method consistent with MFMA daily-care guidance. No auto-scrubber can make that statement.
High-Capacity Bagged Dust Containment
The 2-ply Infiltrator® bag system provides full-shift capacity on most applications and reduces fine-dust re-emission compared to bagless designs. Critical when grit and fine particulate from high-traffic courts and rubber floors need to stay contained, not recirculated into spaces where athletes are working.
Continuous-Duty Industrial Motor
The corded SV280 is powered by a continuous-duty, ball-bearing motor built for extended commercial operation — not a home-use motor running commercial hours. Designed for the daily demands of a facility that cleans multiple surfaces across multiple shifts, without interruption.
Built in Newburgh, NY Since 1946
4th-generation family manufacturer. Parts are stocked. Support answers the phone. The machine is repairable — not disposable. When a design principle holds for 80 years, it is because the manufacturing discipline behind it has not been compromised to cut cost.
